Social Care Assessments

Here are some are some of the assessments that Norfolk County teams may complete with you so you can get the right advice and support.

"A children and family assessment is for children aged 0-17. It looks at the child's needs and what support may be needed. You might have heard it called a 'social work assessment'. There are lots of ways we can help you if you have an assessment. We can give you advice and guidance, and point you to services and organisations that can help you and your family. Or the assessment may decide that your child should have social care support from children's services."

Early Help

What is Early Help?

If you have difficulties in your family, or if you are worried about your children, there are people who can support you.

Early help is about giving information, advice and guidance to families. We want to help as soon as difficulties start. This is to prevent family worries growing into bigger issues.

We can help any family with a child or young person up to 18-years-old (25 for young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities). We also can help with the worries adults may have, such as finances or mental health, which may impact on the children.

How can I request Early Help?

For requesting Early Help one of their early help professionals can advise and support you.
